Day 1 of the 3rd Test between India and England Score updates in real-time: On the first day of the third Test against England, India was bowled for a measly 78 runs.

After lunch, Indian batsmen failed to put up a rearguard fight as James Anderson (3/6) and Craig Overton (3/14) destroyed the Indian batting line-up, while Ollie Robinson (2/16) and Sam Curran (2/21) each claimed two wickets.

Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first, but the batting order struggled, with only opener Rohit Sharma (19) and Ajinkya Rahane (18) reaching double figures. India was down to 56/4 at the time of lunch.

After winning the second Test by 151 runs at Lord’s, India took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
